We received word directly from the Forsyth County Office of Environmental Assistance and Protection (EAP), that Maymead’s air permit application for the proposed asphalt plant at 6010 Gun Club Road has been determined complete.
Here’s what that means and what comes next:
- The EAP is now preparing a Statement of Basis and Draft Permit for the facility.
- We are not yet in the public participation phase — no draft permit has been issued, and the 30-day public comment period has not opened yet.
- No public hearing has been scheduled yet.
- The department has told us directly that they will notify us when the draft permit goes to public notice, and when a public hearing is scheduled.
What this means for you: there’s nothing to formally comment on yet, but this is a sign the process is moving forward. Now is still a good time to sign the petition, stay subscribed for updates, and make sure your neighbors know what’s happening — so everyone’s ready to act quickly once the draft permit and comment period are announced.
We’ll post the moment we hear anything further from the EAP.
